Matakki Wins Best E-Commerce Award At The Digital Awards 2018

Finalists for the 2018 Digital Awards have been revealed, in a year which has seen more than 100 impressive entries. A panel of judges, who represented some of Hull’s top businesses, had the difficult task of examining entries, before selecting three finalists for each category.

Competition this year was higher than ever, as Hull continues to cement its place as one of the country’s leading digital hotbeds.

A company or organisation that can show itself to be a true vanguard of digital commerce. This could range from an online based retail business to a sports club using online to build its core business. Firms of all sizes can be considered, from small new companies up to major organisations driving change. Businesses which have fresh ideas for selling products online will be looked favourably on and creative thinking will be rewarded.

The Finalists

  • Turner Price – The Hull food manufacturer has moved away from traditional channels and embraced digital tech for its sales and communication strategies.
  • Rising Sun Commerce -The business helps other companies sell successfully on Amazon Japan. It has clients across the world who are trying to break into the Japanese market.
  • Matakki Scissors – The Japanese scissor specialist, based in Hull, have invested heavily in a new website – accompanied by a strong social media presence – to drive business.

Matakki Scissors – The Japanese scissor market may not be a business many can say they are familiar with, but Matakki Scissors is doing its bit to put itself on the map.

A large investment into its online presence has seen the arrival of a new, user-friendly website, complete with a full catalogue of its bespoke products. Matakki has combined its new website with an impressive use of social media, increasing its visibility and strengthening its brand.

Matakki is proving the days of traditional selling and marketing have long gone, and has taken to the internet to drive business forwards. With more than 50,000 followers across all platforms, Matakki is reaping the rewards with a solid increase in sales.
