My name is Jarred Liddington, I am 28, and the proud owner of 'JARREDS' Barber Shop in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire. I qualified as a hairdresser in 2012 but quickly fell out of love with the salon environment - I ended up taking a year out of the industry and working in a factory. I decided to teach myself barbering and, five years ago, took the plunge and decided to open my own barber shop; it was the best decision I have ever made.
My proudest achievement to date is having my own business - We are a team of 5 full time barbers who all constantly push and encourage each other, it is a great place to work...although to be honest it rarely feels like work at all. We are all from varied backgrounds, and having my own shop means I have been able to give new opportunities to people looking for a change in their career.
At the moment I am really loving the Menspire team - Josh Lamonaca is really pushing the creative boundaries, whilst keeping the structure and elegance of classic barbering.
I love meat.
If you aim at nothing, then you are sure to hit it every time. Push the boundaries and believe in yourself.
