Biography

Matakki Master Ambassador Marcus King is the co-owner of The King and I luxury hairdressing and has been hairdressing for over 20 years. In those years he has travelled around the world to showcase his skill at shows and seminars. Winner of North Eastern Hairdresser of the year and most recently Men’s British Hairdresser of the year, he has a huge passion for photographic work-his work has been published in worldwide magazines. His aim is to always have a front cover.

What is your proudest achievement to date?

It would definitely have to be winning both of my awards at the BHA’s, they’re like the Oscars of the hairdressing world!

Who inspires you in the industry and why?

I would say there are lots of people that inspire me form Angelo Seminara to Trevor Sorbie and good old Vidal Sassoon. They all have their own skill sets and I take inspiration from all of their different works. It’s important to have idols along with respect for the artists you work along side
