My name is KJ and I’ve been cutting for around 5 years, I started in Portsmouth from where I was born and lived until I was 18, I travelled a few countries around Europe cutting hair and I am now a part of the Ghost Barbershop team.

What is your proudest achievement to date?

January 2019 I was asked to help run a workshop in Poland and it was a real eye opener. Having to explain the reason you do certain techniques and demonstrate how keeps you sharp. I’ve also been lucky enough over the last few years to guest at Hard Grind and Rum Barber among other Barbershops. And now to be approached by Matakki for Pro Hair Live was amazing, I think all these experiences are pretty good achievements.

Who inspires you in the industry and why?

There is so much talent in the industry right now and I’m really inspired by a lot of barbers all for different reasons. Firstly I’m inspired by my team at Ghost Barbershop, everyone is always pushing themselves to get better and it’s amazing to be in such a passionate team of solid barbers. I’ve always looked up to Emma Richardson and Paddy Corrigan for their stretched out fades and tapers. that I try to incorporate into my own work. Dee Mcourt, John Carmona, Roman Solo, Richard Farmer and my friends at Rum Barber like Josh McPike and @Cutscoolcats just to name a few, so much good work being put in by these barbers.

What is your favourite food?

I’m a monster for any type of cheese.

Inspirational Quote

“The more you pretend I’m invisible, the bigger my entrance will seem” is a Jason Miller quote I’ve always enjoyed!
