Amelia is the Co-Owner of Vintage & co based in the town of Beverley, East Yorkshire.
With a creative background in Game development, Amelia started her hairdressing journey looking for a career where she could utilise her creative flare whilst earning a wage. Having the benefit of supportive one to one training as an apprentice very early on in her career, Amelia strives to maintain those standards in helping others to realise their own potential. Amelia credits that positive experience to her self-belief and confidence in her work now and her passion for educating others.
Amelia previously spent some time as an educator for GHD, something she put herself forward for to push herself out of her comfort zone and challenge her creativity further. Amelia feels the hairdressing industry is constantly evolving and feels that education needs to transform with that. Working alongside her partner as Co-owner of their Salon, Amelia hopes to provide a positive learning environment for future hairdressers and barbers within a salon environment and encourage people into the profession whilst embracing individuality.
Amelia purchased her first pair of Matakki Scissors in 2018, initially drawn to the Matakki Reaper scissors feeling an affinity with its sleek and individual appearance, Amelia was quickly impressed by the sharpness and quality of the scissors which she feels transformed her work. Amelia’s most recent Matakki Scissors purchase is The Ikon loving their sleek appearance and sharp edges, Amelia finds these versatile for her work owing to the balance and weight providing comfort in her work.
Officially Joining the Matakki Tribe as an Ambassador in September 2021, we’re excited to work with Amelia for the next part of her adventure.
